Revel in the Christmas spirit when the Maroondah Singers celebrate their annual Christmas concert at Mountview Uniting Church Hall from 2-30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday December 10.  There will also be a delicious afternoon tea to follow with lots of lovely home baked goods from members of the choir.  A great excuse to eat Christmas goodies and chat to the singers, family and friends.

Here we come a-Caroling is the theme of this year’s program which will include Christmas songs – “some familiar, some unusual, some to sing along to” – from Gospel versions of Silent Night and O Holy Night to the gentle beauty of  Still a Bach Christmas to The First Noel/Pachelbel’s Canon.Join in the Christmas celebration with Musical Director Lyn Henshall, Accompanist/Guest Artist John Atwell and Soloist James Emerson (bass/baritone) in his final performance as our 2017 Vocal Scholar. The concert coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Maroondah Singers ninth and final performance in Carols by Candlelight at the Myer Music Bowl, which is also celebrating its 80th anniversary.

Tickets are Adults $25, Concession $20, Under 12 free (plus a gold coin donation for afternoon tea). For availability call 0422 050 323, see our website or pay at the door.

The choir was also scheduled for a short Christmas concert at St James Anglican Church, in 21-23 Bemboka Road, Croydon Hills on Saturday morning December 9.

In the midst of heavy rehearsing for the big events we appeared for a 20-minute slot in the Maroondah Festival on a sunny Sunday on November 12. Our performance of Java Jive, Hallelujah, All That Jazz, Blame it on the Bossa Nova, Fields of Gold and Esta Es el Tiempo, preceded the official opening of the festival for the City of Maroondah.  Parke Lawyers, gold sponsors of the event, said they were “absolutely thrilled” to have groups such as the Maroondah Singers perform on their Main Stage Arena.
